Youth Ministry

Middle and High School Summer Sunday School

Sunday mornings can be a great place to reconnect since you don’t get to see each other with school activities in the summer. High school continues with a Case for Christ as we see a guy’s quest to put Christ and trial to see if He is the Savior. Middle School will be checking out how we can be heroes for Christ.

Middle School FOCUS for Summer

New 6th-8th grader, join our Summer Middle School FOCUS on St. Michael campus from 6-8 PM on Wednesdays. We play faith building games and have fun with new and old friends. Thanks to the Kester family who hosted us for a pool party in July.

High School Houses for Summer FOCUS

We have had a great time this summer at high school youth’s houses for a little change of pace from 6-8 PM. We play hard, have some food, a taste from God’s word, and connect up with new and old friends. We post directions to the person’s house each week on Facebook and e-mail. Want to host? Contact Lori if you are interested.

Confirmation for our Middle School Students

We will be launching confirmation August 22. Families will get a letter in the mail explaining details. We look forward to a great year with our new 6th – 8th graders as we explore our Lutheran Faith.

High School Destination Unknown

Incoming 9-12th graders, join us as we spend an evening without knowing where you will land or what you will do. Parents should drop off at St. Michael at 5 PM on Friday, Aug. 13 and then they will be told secretively where to pick you up at midnight after our last activity. Watch your mailboxes for more details about what to bring.  RSVP by Wed. Aug. 11. Adult drivers are needed.

Rock the Universe Flyer

On Sat. Sept. 11 we will be going to Universal Studios for Rock the Universe. We have 110 spots available for middle and high school students and adults. We will meet at St. Michael on Sat. at 10:30 AM, head out  in two buses, stop for lunch on the way, be in the park from 4 PM – 1:00 AM watching concerts (see list below) and riding rides. After the park closes, we will head home, returning early Sunday morning (approximately 4:30 AM). Cost is $80, which includes park ticket, bus, t-shirt and snack. Deadline is Thursday, Aug. 19. Bands include: Jeremy Camp, Relient K, tobyMac, NeedToBreathe, Fireflight, GRITS, and Regie Hamm.

National Youth Gathering Update

Words can not express the thankfulness we have for all your prayers and support this year as we attended the National Youth Gathering. It was truly an unbelievable event.

We look forward to telling you about our experience and meeting you on Aug. 29th at our 5th Sunday Breakfast as part of our Rally Day Experience.

Making a Difference for Eternity!  That is what happens each Sunday morning as volunteers share their time and faith with kids of all ages. You don’t have to be a teacher to do it either. All gifts are needed. If you care about kids, we can find a spot for you. We are in the process of building our team for this fall at the Way Station, Confirmation, and High School Sunday School. If you are interested but not sure where to plug in, contact Lori.
