Worship Tips for Little Ones If you haven’t made plans yet to bring your children to worship on Good Friday to either our noon or 7 PM service, add it to your calendar now. Kids are visual learners. This is the only time of the year when they will see the altar stripped, just like Christ was stripped of His clothes to be put on the cross. Pastor Jon and the acolytes wear black to remind us of our sin. There are 7 black candles that are lit to remind us of the 7 statements Christ made from the cross. The music is somber. The service ends in silence (don’t worry your kids will be able to be quite if you explain it to them). They will understand and follow your example of the somber atmosphere. What a great picture for them to understand more what Christ did for them! It will also make so much more sense to them the contrast to Easter Sunday when the cross and sanctuary is filled with flowers showing the new life in Christ. |

Faith Stepping Stones: Preschool Parenting Class
Its not to late to join the last two classes of our Faith Stepping Stones Parents of Preschoolers (2-4 years) led by a teacher of Early Head Start: Mrs. Brenda Engstrom. The class meets on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:30 in the Spanish Classroom in our main education building. Drop off your children at Way Station in the ECALC building and head over as we wrap up our study of your child’s Spiritual Development. We will have a blessing at worship on Sun. Mar 9. |

Way Station Prepares to be Missionaries
Kids remember that we are bringing in our special offerings Sunday, Mar. 2 for Hearts for Jesus Campaign to buy the DVD “The Story of Jesus for Children.” Together with the students of SMLS and kids all over the FL-GA District and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, we hope to buy 10,000 DVDs. Start praying now for God to show your family what person to whom He wants you to give the DVD. They will be delivered in April. Thanks for your support of this great missionary effort.

Vacation Bible School
Plug into Jesus’ miraculous power at our VBS July 28- Aug. 1. 3 years old – 5th grader will have a blast as they explore along with their Middle and High School Students and adults crew leaders how God gives us power to do more than we can imagine. We are in the process of building our staff of volunteers so if you are interested, contact Lori Schwan. We are so excited to offer VBS during the last week of St. Michael’s summer program so children can have care from 7:30-5:30 each day. Contact Sue Hampell with the summer programs to know more about the camps offered that week.
